RWCCRCNY 3rd Annual 5K Program We're training to do a 5K walk, jog and/or run! No pressure. Some of us have never walked or ran in a 5K, some have. It's a 3 days a week, 9-week program beginning on Saturday, March 12th. For each of those days, we'll do 3.1 miles on our own or with others. Select our own route and days/times that work best for us, walk, jog or run, and comment on our weekly 5K social media posts to encourage each other. The Republican Women’s Club of Columbia & Rensselaer Counties, NY is honored to host Yasmine Syed as our next guest speaker. Yasmine served as Town Supervisor beginning in 2018 through 2021 becoming the first Republican Supervisor to serve in over 2 decades in the town of Niskayuna and one of the few minority Supervisors in the state. As Supervisor, Syed launched a dedicated YouTube channel for the town’s public meetings to increase transparency, kept taxes flat for three budget cycles, authored the town’s first fund balance policy, created the Niskayuna Farmers Market and spearheaded a mentorship program for young women with a focus on minority participation. During her tenure she was designated a “Rising Star” by the NYGOP and awarded the Seth Lowe Municipal Official of the Year by the NYSYR. Syed holds a Master's degree from New York University and Bachelor's degree from Boston University.

Katie Bloodgood is currently the New York State Director for the Republican National Committee. During the 2020 election cycle she served as the Events Director in Minnesota for the Donald J. Trump for President Campaign. She previously spent 8 years working on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., serving as Congressman Jason Lewis’ (MN-02) Legislative Director from 2017-2019. Prior to her time in Congressman Lewis’ office she worked for Congressman Scott Garrett (NJ-05) from 2011-2017 as Senior Legislative Assistant. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Boston University. We're excited to share that the New York State Rifle & Pistol Associaton will be host to our next RWCCRCNY meeting with guest speaker Tom Driscoll. Thomas Driscoll is a veteran of the United States Army Reserve who served honorably with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD), 413th Quartermaster Battalion, including an overseas deployment in March 2003 to Balad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While assigned in a Combat Service Support role he served as the assigned driver for the HHD Commander, Team Leader for the Battalion's Quick Reaction Force, Combat Lifesaver and provided Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction to unit members. Tom was additionally assigned the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon for missions which included convoy escort security, base defense and recovery of captured enemy equipment. In 2015, Tom received his New York State Armed Guard License where he worked as an armed security and investigation professional for a locally based company. He started shooting competitively in 2001 and has continuously worked to expand his firearms knowledge and proficiency. Along with earning multiple NRA Instructor credentials, Tom has instructed thousands of shooters through his firearm training company HST Enterprises LLC (High Standard Training) where he strives to educate, encourage, and motivate responsible gun owners. All members are welcome to join our bi-monthly meeting! You can pay at the door. Men are welcome to join as Associate members. We will be collecting towards our 2022 RWCCRCNY scholarships. Dinner will be $15 per person and will include pizza, wings, dessert and drinks.
